Green Lodging

Convenience, location and surroundings are all things to consider when deciding where to stay while in the big sky country. Ecotourism efforts should also be an attribute we look for in a lodging property. A business that takes care of its surroundings is one that will make a lasting impression on its guests, not its environment.

The most common sustainable practices that we see include a linen reuse program, on property recycling programs and paperless communication and billing. But these efforts however minimal are not all that your hotel, motel, lodge or cabin property can do. A truly eco minded Big Sky visitor will look for their lodging to offer amenities that go above and beyond what is easy and obvious. Many of the areas Ecotourism properties are utilizing carbon offset programs, refillable toiletries, eco friendly development and energy efficiency. When looking for a lodging choice, consider one that educates not only their guests but their staff about sustainable practices.

Lodging is one of the largest industries in the world where amenities exceed all else. The companies promoted on our Ecotourism pages have met a minimum of 10 guidelines from the set standards list and has been approved following an onsite inspection. We are pleased to promote their conservation efforts. To see a complete list of lodging guidelines visit ALLTrips.com.
