The Big Sky Big Grass festival brings together some of the best things about Montana - mountains, skiing and bluegrass. The annual festival is the perfect excuse to explore Big Sky in February!

Put on your hats & coats, mittens & boots and join us for the 10th Annual WinterFest with these events and more:  1840's Western Rendezvous Encampment with activities and demonstrations, The Montana Heritage Commission 1860's Living History with Historic Interpreters and interactive exhibits, blacksmith contest, All Breed Horse Sale, Battle of the Trail Horse, Chili Cook-off, Canine Talent Competition, Dog Keg Pull, Draft Horse Pulling Contest, Hockey Tournament, Old McLien's Farm Barn, Petting Zoo, Quilt Show, Ski Joring, Sweetheart Fur & Feather Show, and Working Horse & Driver Competition.  And, as always, there will be plenty of food at the food vendor booths, music and other western entertainment, and fun things to buy at the commercial exhibitor booths! Break your cabin fever, get out of the house and join us for some Wintertime fun!

Overview: The annual gathering of bluegrass bands and bluegrass fans under the mountains at Big Sky has delighted the valley for years. The Big Sky Big Grass Bluegrass Festival is a great way to enjoy the wintery mountains with a little bit of Montana flare.

When:  This festival is held over a three day span in mid-February each year

Where: Big Sky Resort is home to the foot stomping good time

Fees: Ticket prices vary from free to a small coverage per performance. 

Details: Headlining bands and local favorites span the festival lineup. you won't want to miss the great names that shoe their flare in big Sky each year. Some shows are all ages shows, while others are 21 and over only. The shows typically start mid day Friday and wrap up each night around 1:30.
