Music in the Mountains
Every July and August, the Big Sky Arts Council helps to host Music in the Mountains, a free concert series sponsored by a variety of local businesses. Held at the Meadow Village Concert Stage in Big Sky, Montana, the Thursday night concerts feature a wide variety of national acts.
From jazz to bluegrass, jam rock to world funk, and singer-songwriters to Celtic bands, the line-up for the Music in the Mountains concert series is the very definition of diverse. The 2008 line-up for this yearly concert series could virtually constitute a musical tour around the world, and future years are sure to hold similar forays into all genres of music.
Held in Big Sky as part of the Big Sky Arts Council outreach, the free concerts are a chance for locals and visitors to come together and celebrate the long Montana summer nights. A different area business sponsors each Thursday night concert, where food and beverages are available for purchase. The outdoor concerts are held at the Meadow Village Concert Stage, so chances are the only thing that will rival the music are the views of the surrounding mountains.
